Vom 24. bis zum 30. August 2024 fand der IGU-UGI International Geographical Congress an der Dublin City University in Irland statt. Themen der Konferenz waren neben der geographischen Bildung unter anderem Transport und Mobilität, Städteplanung, Wassernutzung und -konflikte, Migration, politische Geographien, Tourismus sowie feministische Geographien. Seitens des IDN nahmen Prof. Dr. Christiane Meyer, Merle Biermann, Jonas Koch und Lara Brede an der Konferenz teil und stellten in den folgenden drei Vorträgen aktuelle Forschungsprojekte und -ergebnisse der Geographiedidaktik vor:
